I have a panasonic hvx200 that my macbook isnt recognizing. has anyone had this issue? I talked to the mac guys and they basically said that my camera isn't supported by my mac. If I bought a cheapo camera to just upload video that I taped off my nice camera it won't transfer it as hd right? Do I have to buy a tape deck?

Camera Help! [Oct. 28th, 2009|03:45 pm]

Hey all, first time poster and all that :) I was wondering if anyone had opinions on the best video cameras between the 3-5K range that could help me. I'm looking to buy by the end of the week but am completely overwhelmed by all the specs. What are you shooting on now and would you recommend it? Right now I'm looking between the Sony, Canon, and Panasonic models in comparable price ranges.

Nikon Action-8 Camcorder [May. 8th, 2009|07:38 pm]

I was trying to find a community for "amateur filmmakers" or something like that, but nothing came up...so I'm going out on a limb to post this here.

I just got a free Nikon Action-8 Video Camera (a relic, I'm sure...I'm guessing early 90s?) Before I plunge into research, does anyone know if tapes are still available, if they can be converted to digital (and what's required to do that), if it's worth my time, etc.?
